St. Joseph’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Porur Village was established in 2004, providing a nurturing environment for rural students, especially Dalit children, to learn and grow with dignity.

The School has English as its medium, is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education and followed the Matriculation syllabus of that time. Today, the school has evolved and now follows the state syllabus, Samacheer Kalvi, across Grades 1 to 12, providing a unified education system for all students.

For the academic year 2024-2025, St. Joseph’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Porur Village is proud to host a dynamic and diverse student body. This year, the school embraces a rich tapestry of students from various socio-economic backgrounds, reflecting its core values of inclusivity and equity.

The student body represents a broad spectrum of communities, including a significant number from Scheduled Castes (SC), as well as participants from Backward Classes (BC) and Most Backward Classes (MBC). This blend of backgrounds enriches the learning environment, ensuring that students benefit from a wide range of perspectives and experiences.

From the youngest learners in Kindergarten to the senior students preparing for their final exams, the school fosters an environment where diversity is celebrated, and every student is given the opportunity to thrive. With a total student strength of 312, comprising 164 boys and 148 girls, this diverse composition reflects St. Joseph’s commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive educational experience for all.
